Resistance to Wear during Friction without Lubrication of Steel-Cast Iron Pairing with Nanocrystalline Structure-Reinforced Surface Layers

چکیده

During the TDT of 41Cr4 steel specimens, a uniformly reinforced white layer with nano-crystalline structure is formed in surface layers. The wear resistance sliding friction without lubrication pair 41Cr4—grey cast iron EN-GJL-200 (EN) under face-to-face (“ring-ring”) scheme has been studied. It revealed that when velocity changes from 0.25 m/s to 4 and unit load 0.2 MPa 1.0 MPa, on specimens unreinforced grey higher than an pair. increases for both not operating

Wear Resistance of Steels with Surface Nanocrystalline Structure Generated by Mechanical-Pulse Treatment

The influence of the surface mechanical-pulse treatment based on high-speed friction with a rapid cooling by the technological environment on the wear resistance of medium- and high-carbon steels was considered. The treatment due to a severe plastic deformation enabled obtaining the nanocrystalline structure with a grain size of 14-40 nm. A high positive effect of this treatment was obtained no...

Effect of Surface Texturing on Cast Iron Reciprocating against Steel under Cyclic Loading in Boundary and Mixed Lubrication Conditions

This study investigates the effect of laser surface texturing on the friction behavior of grey cast iron reciprocating under boundary, mixed lubrication conditions and cyclic loading. Four geometrical parameters of micro-textures (feature depth, feature diameter, area fraction, and sliding direction) were studied using a design of experiments (DoE) approach. The results showed that depending on...

Microstructure and Sliding Wear Behaviour of In-Situ TiC-Reinforced Composite Surface Layers Fabricated on Ductile Cast Iron by Laser Alloying

TiC-reinforced composite surface layers (TRLs) on a ductile cast iron EN-GJS-700-2 grade (DCI) substrate were synthesized using a diode laser surface alloying with a direct injection of titanium powder into the molten pool. The experimental results were compared with thermodynamic calculations. The TRLs having a uniform distribution of the TiC particles and their fraction up to 15.4 vol % were ...

Assembling of carbon nanotubes film responding to significant reduction wear and friction on steel surface

Friction properties of carbon nanotubes have been widely studied and reported, however, the friction properties of carbon nanotubes related on state of itself. It is showing superlubricity under nanoscale, but indicates high shear adhesion as aligned carbon nanotube film. However, friction properties under high load (which is commonly in industry) of carbon nanotube films are seldom reported. I...

Evaluation of hardness and wear resistance of nano-sized titanium-carbide-reinforced commercially cast aluminum alloy matrices

Production of aluminum matrix composites is widespread because these material provide enhanced mechanical properties compared to aluminum. One the most important parameters of metal matrix composite production is uniform distribution of reinforcing nanoparticles in matrices using the stir-casting method. Second is ensuring high wettability, which is determined by evaluating the properties of ma...
